DAVIE–It’s a hectic day for the Miami Dolphins. Not only are they getting into their first practice for the season opener against Tampa Bay, but they’ve got a list of roster moves to smooth out and they’re watching the projected path of Hurricane Irma.

With all of that going on, here’s what coach Adam Gase said this morning:

— Linebacker Rey Maualuga is practicing today, but no decision has been made regarding his playing status for Sunday.

— There’s minimal conversation among the coaching staff about playing the game on a different date or at a different location. Gase says they’ll play whenever and wherever they’re told.

— Regarding the team’s move to cut kicker Andrew Franks and sign Cody Parkey, Gase said it was simply a matter of evaluating Parkey to be the better of the two.
