What Dolphins associate head coach and special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi said Thursday:

  • Asked about pressure possibly building between defense and struggling offense: “I’ve never seen it here. … This team has been pretty good about that.”
  • On new assistant Dave DeGuglielmo: “I played against Guge in college, believe it or not.” Says Guge has a strong personality and it takes strong personality to come in during middle of season.
  • On focusing amid controversy: “I’ve always been a believer in distractions are what you make of them. … Are we going to let distractions take us off the rail or eliminate them? Are you going to read the media?” (Editorial comment: Hope so!)
  • Rizzi: “I couldn’t even tell you how to get on Instachat or whatever they’re called.”
