Jay Cutler time? Dolphins considering Baltimore game for debut

DAVIE—Everyone who follows the Dolphins is eagerly awaiting the chance to see new quarterback Jay Cutler run the offense, and it might happen next week.

Cutler has gone through two practices and a walk-through since his arrive in South Florida and ran Miami’s first-team offense in this morning’s practice. With three more practices coming up and a walk-through after that, coach Adam Gase said it’s up to Cutler whether he wants to play Thursday against Baltimore.

“I’m still working,” Gase said. “I need to see him keep going and see where his comfort level is. If he feels good enough to go on Thursday, where the pocket feel is there and he feels like he’s in a good place, then he’ll go.

“I really can’t say right now… We were talking through the whole thing and he can tell me what’s going on and trying to get used to the rush. This was really the first day he had multiple plays of our pass rush coming at him with (Ndamukong) Suh and Cam (Wake) and (Andre) Branch coming off the edge.
