Grading the Miami Dolphins in preseason finale (special Jakeem Grant edition)

Grading the Dolphins for their preseason finale against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night.

Quarterback

Brandon Doughty played the first quarter and was 2-of-8 for 37 yards, a deceptive stat line because of his command in directing the opening drive (10 plays, 78 yards, TD). David Fales relieved and found Jakeem Grant with a nifty 65-yard bomb, then tossed an easy score to MarQueis Gray. The guess is the Dolphins go with two QBs again (Jay Cutler and Matt Moore) and have Doughty on the practice squad.

Grade: B

Running backs

This was Kenyan Drake’s night to show he can spell Jay Ajayi. Drake looked polished, ran with authority and showed strength on a 1-yard touchdown plunge to open the scoring. He did have a couple of slip-ups (holding penalty, fumble that he recovered).

Grade: B

Receivers

Giancarlo Stanton keeps hitting home runs. So does Jakeem Grant. This time it was a 65-yarder that left DBs huffing and puffing.
