Alex Boone was shockingly cut by the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday.

Boone plays guard, more specifically left guard, and the Miami Dolphins could use another guard, specifically someone who can play left guard.

Boone told the Palm Beach Post on Saturday evening he would be very interested in playing for Miami coach Adam Gase.

Boone played for the San Francisco 49ers from 2009-2015.

Miami’s offensive line coach, Chris Foerster, was 49ers offensive line coach in 2009 and 2015.

Before last season, Boone agreed to a 4-year, $26.8 million contract.

Miami’s projected starting left guard, Ted Larsen, is going to miss at least the first eight games of this season with a biceps injury.

Jesse Davis and Anthony Steen are among the players competing for the starting position, but it is clear Miami may take a close look at the offensive linemen cut Saturday.
